Today we present the Skokie IL market report for November 2015. The stats show a 18.9% drop in inventory of homes in all properties and 5.4% less closed sales. However in condominiums there is 14.8 more new listings compared with the same time in 2014. There is also 8.7% more condos that are under contract for this time period and the average sales price for condos is up 22.3%. This is an interesting figure because in single family homes we are showing 14% less new listings, 16.7 less homes under contract and a gain of 6.5% for closed sales this month for houses in Skokie IL.
This is all due to the holidays and also the fact that this Spring and Summer the Real Estate market in Skokie IL was really booming. At this time the interest rates are still excellent and Skokie IL is a very popular place to call home. Many people feel there is good value compared to Evanston IL. The property taxes are less in Skokie and the general prices of homes are less and the schools are excellent. The Skokie school system is highly rated.
At this time, December 4th 2015 there are 201 single family homes available for sale in Skokie IL and 83 properties under contract and waiting to close. In the last 30 days, 27 houses have closed and are sold. In the condo scene presently there are 84 properties for sale and 39 under contract and waiting to close. In the last 30 days we have seen 13 condos close, they are off the market.
